Texas Farm Credit has donated $20,000 to Stephen F. Austin State University’s Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture to support scholarships, student programs, and hands-on learning opportunities for future agricultural and forestry professionals.
The gift was formally presented Feb. 19 during a check presentation attended by university leadership and Texas Farm Credit representatives.

Funding will support Agriculture Week activities, student ambassador programs, undergraduate and graduate scholarships, and travel for forestry and agriculture students competing at state and national events, including the Forestry Conclave. University officials estimate the donation will benefit dozens of students across multiple academic programs each year by expanding access to leadership experiences, professional development, and applied learning opportunities.
Forestry and agriculture play a vital role in the East Texas economy, supporting thousands of jobs in timber production, land management, manufacturing, and rural communities throughout the region. Investments in student training help ensure a skilled workforce capable of sustaining these industries for generations to come.
“Texas Farm Credit believes strongly in investing in the next generation of agricultural and forestry leaders,” said Chief Executive Officer Mark Miller. “Stephen F. Austin State University consistently produces graduates who make a meaningful impact in these industries, and we are proud to support their students and programs.”
“This gift directly supports student success and experiential learning opportunities that prepare our graduates for real-world careers,” said Dr. Neal Weaver, President of Stephen F. Austin State University. “Partnerships with organizations like Texas Farm Credit strengthen our ability to develop workforce-ready professionals who will serve the agriculture and forestry sectors across Texas and beyond.”
Texas Farm Credit remains committed to investing in education and workforce development that will help sustain agriculture, forestry, and rural economies across the state for generations to come.
