TEPAP 2027: Leadership & Business Training for Agricultural Producers

In agriculture, growing a successful operation takes more than working hard and knowing your industry. Today’s producers are also managing people, finances, family dynamics, succession plans and major business decisions, often while navigating an industry that never stops changing.

That’s why Texas Farm Credit is proud to support The Executive Program for Agricultural Producers (TEPAP), a professional development program designed to help agricultural producers strengthen their business management and leadership skills.

What is TEPAP?

Hosted through Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, TEPAP has spent more than 35 years helping farmers, ranchers and agribusiness leaders think differently about the business side of agriculture.

More than 2,000 producers have participated in the program, gaining practical tools, new perspectives and a network of agricultural professionals from across the country.

Rather than focusing on production practices, TEPAP challenges participants to step back and look at their operation from the perspective of a business owner and leader.

Building Better Agricultural Businesses

Through real-world discussions, practical case studies and peer-to-peer learning, participants explore topics that can have a lasting impact on their operations, including:

  • Family business management
  • Financial management
  • Strategic management
  • Succession planning
  • Macroeconomics
  • Leadership
  • Accountability
  • Sales
  • Negotiation strategies
  • Human relations

The goal is not simply to learn more about agriculture. It is to help producers become stronger decision-makers, leaders and business managers.

Graduates leave the program with tools to improve family and employee communication, approach financial decisions with greater confidence, strengthen succession and transition plans, identify opportunities for growth and build relationships with other agricultural leaders.

Investing in the People Behind Agriculture

Texas Farm Credit has long encouraged agricultural producers and emerging leaders to consider TEPAP as an opportunity to invest in both themselves and the future of their operations.

Agriculture is constantly evolving, and the decisions producers make today can affect their businesses for generations. Programs like TEPAP create an opportunity to get away from the day-to-day demands of the operation, evaluate the bigger picture and return home with practical ideas that can be put to work.

Whether you are preparing to take on a greater leadership role, navigating growth within your operation, working through succession planning or simply looking for new ways to improve the business behind your farm or ranch, TEPAP offers an opportunity to learn alongside others facing many of the same challenges.
